Beatrice Michaela Clark, 82, teacher, librarian

Beatrice Michaela Clark, 82, of Ridgefield, died on Monday evening, August 12, 2013 at Filosa for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Danbury, CT.

Mrs. Clark was born in Lynn, MA, February 1, 1931, a daughter of Benjamin M. and Josephine (Mattarocchia) Tenaglia.  She attended Lynn English High School and graduated from Mt. Holyoke College.

Mrs. Clark was employed as a librarian at the Lynn Public Library and then served as an educator in the Lynn Public School system for 25 years.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1996, Mrs. Clark was a substitute teacher in the Ridgefield Public School systems and a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish where she was a volunteer C.C.D. educator.

She enjoyed traveling, vacationing frequently in Italy where she also spent a sabbatical year studying at the Universita per Stranieri in Perugia.  She was also an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking for her family.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her son, Thomas Clark and his wife, Hiroko of Tokyo, Japan and their children, Theresa M. Clark, Thomas H. Clark, Anna C. Clark and Julia M. Clark; and by a sister, Eleanor A. Tenaglia of Lynn, MA; her former husband, Donald S. Clark of Marblehead, MA;  as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clark was predeceased by two brothers, Benjamin M. Tenaglia Jr. and William T. Tenaglia and by a sister, Ruth A. Tenaglia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11 AM in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield.

Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA, on Monday, August 19 at 11 AM.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 4 PM to 8 PM.
