Milo Dalbey of Ridgefield, CT, formerly of Mamaroneck, NY, died peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, August 30, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born May 8, 1938 in White Plains, NY.
Milo spent his life as a creative artist who never stayed within the lines and always thought outside the box. His mind, hands and eyes were forever searching every environment for new possibilities to express what the earth so magnificently provided to him. His joy for life is seen in each one of his many paintings, ceramics and sculptures. His Irish roots gave him the gift of the gab, a twinkle in his eyes, and an irrepressible spirit.
He spent thirty-seven years teaching in the Larchmont-Mamaroneck school district. He also taught at the New School in New York City and Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA, where he inspired each of students to follow his/her own path.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mimi Verna Dalbey; his children, Leesa Haas of Sayville, NY, Matthew Dalbey of Silver Spring MD, Rachel Spagnuolo of Bedford Corners, NY and seven grandchildren; Noah, Mollie and Cooper Dalbey, Michael, Josef and Pamela Haas, and
Riley Spagnuolo; and his sister, Ruth Gray, of Danbury, CT.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Regional Hospice, 30 Milestone Rd., Danbury, CT 06810 or Mamanasco Lake Improvement Fund, PO Box 246, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
