Tony DiDomenico, 87, school custodian

Tony J. DiDomenico of Ridgefield, CT, died Sunday August 30, 2015 in Danbury Hospital at the age of 87.

He was born February 24, 1928 in Norwalk, CT, son of the late Antonio and Isabel Dominick. He served in the Navy during WWII.

He married Lorraine Sterrnberg in Vermont and they were married for 58 years. They moved to Ridgefield where Mr. DiDomenico worked as a Head Custodian for the Veterans Park Elementary School for 30 years before retiring in 2008. He also worked for Perkin-Elmer and the Ridgefield Bowling Alley. He loved fishing, gardening and was an avid bowler and in the Greater Danbury Bowlers Hall of Fame.

Besides his wife Lorraine of Ridgefield, he is survived by his sons Anthony and his wife Ellen of New Milford, CT, Michael and his wife Barb of North Haverhill, NH, Steve of Huddleston, VA; Daughters Ann Marie Dominick, Janet Green and her husband John of New Milford, CT, Sharon DiDomenico and Tony Santonastaso of New Milford, CT;  Grandchildren Anthony Jr., Nicholas, Michael Jr., Melissa, Joseph, Jesse, Jason, Martin, James and Samantha and great-grandchildren Gavin, Janessa, Austin, Trevor and Zoe. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 3 to 5 pm at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Interment will be private.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department.
