Florence “June” Hinson, 90, lifelong Ridgefielder

Florence “June” Hinson, a lifelong resident of Ridgefield, CT and Brewster, Cape Cod, MA passed away in peace on Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Ridgefield, CT at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John C. Hinson. June was the loving Mother to two sons, J.P. Hinson of New Milford, CT and Scott A. Hinson also of New Milford, CT. She is survived by two extremely loved grandchildren, Alex Hinson and Hannah Hinson who reside along with their mother, Nancy Hinson, in St. Louis, MO.

June was predeceased by her sister Ginny (Virginia) Reutzel, her brother Jack (John) Flood, her brother Bob (Robert) Flood and her sister Midge (Marie) Whittaker. She is survived by her brother Bill (William) Flood of Donellen, FL, her sister Ellen Ronan of Southbury, CT, her brother Raymond Flood of Scarsdale, NY and her brother Daniel Flood of Mt, Kisco, NY. She is also survived by 30+ nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews as well as many, many beloved friends and acquaintances.

June had been a long time resident of Ridgefield, CT before retiring to Cape Cod, MA where she spent 26 years in her favorite surroundings. There she made her home. She became a loving nanny to many children, she went clamming as often as possible and enjoyed just being sea side. June became an award winning formidable opponent at the Captain’s Golf Course where she was a welcomed member for years and scored a Hole in One at age 85. Her attraction to Cape Cod served her well as she introduced several family members and friends to the wonders of “The Cape” and they in turn became returning visitors year after year.

Friends will be received on Friday July 31, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
