Michael ‘Zeke’ Quinn, 68, St. Mary teacher

Michael A. Quinn, 68, of Danbury, husband of Francine (Recine) Quinn, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his home.

Zeke was born in Mt. Kisco, NY, January 13, 1947, son of the late Harold and Kathleen (Brearton) Quinn and resided in Goldens Bridge, NY. He attended NY schools, graduated from John Jay High School and the University of Bridgeport.

A physical education major, Mr. Quinn was a physical education instructor at St. Mary Catholic School of Ridgefield and St. Jude Catholic School of Monroe in addition to being previously involved with the Wilton YMCA.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

A resident of Danbury since 1980, coming from Lewisboro, NY, Mr. Quinn was a member of the Danbury Industrial League Softball League, Richter Park Men’s Golf Association, the Lebanon-American Club and of St. Edward the Confessor Parish of New Fairfield.

In addition to his wife of thirty-five years, Mr. Quinn is survived by a son, Michael R. Quinn; a daughter, Susan E. Quinn two sisters, Jane Fulton and Kathy Rollinson; a niece, five nephews; great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

He will be sorely missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 12 noon in St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield.

Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Friends are asked to kindly omit flowers.
