Marian ‘Mimi’ Marinelli, 92, cook, waitress, longtime Ridgefielder

Marian G. “Mimi” Marinelli, 92, of Danbury, wife of the late Marino Marinelli, died on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center, Ridgefield.

Mrs. Marinelli was born in Danbury, September 13, 1920, a daughter of the late Wilbur W. and Bridget Elizabeth (Hughes) Carey.  She attended local schools and graduated from Danbury High School.

A cook and waitress, Mrs. Marinelli was employed  at the Italian Club of Ridgefield, the former Fife and Drum of Ridgefield and Mac’s Halfway House of Danbury.

A lifelong area resident, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Marinelli is survived by a stepson, Robert Marinelli of Ridgefield; five nephews, Charles Favreau, Carey Favreau, Jason Carey, Timothy Carey and Gary Marinelli; six nieces, Linda Sabel, Diane Favreau, Marcia Grice, Sally Ann Carey, Julie Petro and Joan Carey and well as grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Marinelli was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Favreau and two brothers, Arthur Carey and Harold Carey.

Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:30 AM in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Carolyn Legg, officiating.

Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
