Victoria Gloria Zilli Gage

Victoria Gloria Zilli Gage, age 80, died peacefully on February 24, 2016 at Maplewood of Bethel.  She was born March 10, 1935 in Greensburg, PA, a daughter of the late Zacharia and Anna (Sbaizero) Zilli, who immigrated to the United States from Rive D’Arcona, Italy.

Vicky graduated from Greensburg High School and moved to New York City, where she worked for Encyclopedia Brittanica and as a secretary for a law firm. She also took courses in fashion design. In 1958, she married Norman Gage and began working in publicity for Scandinavian Airlines. The couple moved to Long Island to start a family, then moved to Ridgefield, CT in 1967 where she happily resided for 48 years.

Vicky was a long standing member of St. Mary Parish in Ridgefield.  She volunteered countless hours at the Ridgefield Thrift Shop, helped start the Ridgefield Recycling Center, and was devoted to volunteering at school functions, with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and with religious education programs.  She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, sewing, and art.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Assunta Smith, and 4 brothers: Gino, Luigi, Angelo and Julius Zilli. She is survived by her husband Norman E. Gage; her son Lawrence Gage and spouse Maria of Chicago; and 3 daughters, Rebecca Johnston and husband Bill of Newtown, Jacqueline Gage of Northport, Maine, and Mary Gage-Los and husband Michael of Saratoga Springs, New York; as well as by 10 grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters Mary Olmetti of Michigan and Jean Stipanovich of Pennsylvania as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.  She loved and cherished her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 1:15 PM, which would have been her 81st birthday.

There will be no calling hours, interment will be private.

Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to  The Ridgefield Thrift Shop: 15 Catoonah Street; Ridgefield, CT 06877.
