Henry S. Bylicky, 95, dental surgeon

Henry S. Bylicky, DDS, 95, of Ridgefield, husband of the late Alice (Niminski) Bylicky, died on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Danbury Hospital.

Dr. Bylicky was born in New York, NY, October 20, 1919, son of Frank and Helen (Kobus) Bylicky.  He attended and graduated from NY schools, Stuyvesant High School, Manhattan College and New York University Dental School.

Dr. Bylicky was a retired Doctor of Dental Surgery with his practice in New York, NY.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WW II and was honorably discharged with the rank Lieutenant. Dr. Bylicky later became a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve and retired at the rank of Commander.

An athlete in earlier years, Dr. Bylicky enjoyed swimming, handball and football.

He was a member of the American Legion and VFW of Ridgefield, the Moose Lodge of Danbury and St. Elizabeth Seton Parish of Ridgefield.  He was a member of the former OWLS of Ridgefield and currently Founders Hall.

A summer resident of Ridgefield since 1950, the Bylicky family became permanent residents in 1980.

Dr. Bylicky is survived by a daughter, Diane and son, Henry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield, Ct.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield with military honors.

The family will receive friends at the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Contributions in Dr. Bylicky’s memory may be made to the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, 90 East Ridge, Ridgefield, CT  06877.
