Barbara B. Gilbert
Barbara B. Gilbert, a long time Stamford resident passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family at the age of 88.
She was born in New Haven, CT on November 8, 1925, to the late Benjamin and Shirley Brodner. She attended the Hamden Hall Day School. Barbara was an avid golfer and tennis player. On August 29, 1948, she married her loving husband of 65 years, Theodore D. Gilbert.They created many happy memories together in their homes in Boca Raton, FL., and Stamford, CT.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Theodore Gilbert, her brother Richard Brodner and his wife Leatrice, her children Robert Gilbert, of Hamden, CT., Patricia Yaffa of Ridgefield, CT, William Gilbert and his wife Elizabeth of Stamford, CT., grandchildren Jeremy Gilbert and his wife Shayna, Jamie Yaffa, Benjamin Gilbert, Julie Yaffa and her fiancé Ryan Hughes, Laura Gilbert, and great-grandchildren Della and Maeve Gilbert.
